Mary Ellen fell in love with yoga in 2002 while working a high-pressure job in Washington D.C., experiencing it’s power as a centering, calming and invigorating force. Since then yoga has remained a constant in her life, at times focusing more on the physical, spiritual and community aspects of the practice, but always providing space for retreat, focus and reflection.
Inspired by her nieces she began her path toward children’s yoga teacher certification in the fall of 2017. Her passion for introducing yoga to young minds is fueled by the many benefits of kids yoga – injury prevention, building confidence through self-reflection, mindfulness and body awareness, and, providing a space for kids to thrive and have fun in a noncompetitive environment.
Mary Ellen’s vinyasa classes bring fun, invigorating poses into the traditional vinyasa flow, linking breath with movement, releasing toxins, reenergizing bodies and quieting monkey minds!
Combining two of her passions – yoga and travel – has led Mary Ellen to practice internationally in Nicaragua, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Curacao, and Haiti. In these settings yoga has served as a universal language, forming lasting connections to new cultures thanks to the shared practice.Mary's Website
